Your Beach

By Mackenzie Kyryluk

When things are going your way, do not self-sabotage. Do not begin to second-guess or question what is earned by you. Do not hypothesize on thoughts of less. Foster an abundant mindset, rich in thoughts that are kind, meaningful, and purposeful.

Bring your mind to the ocean, vast and endless. Peaceful. The waves crash, one after another, endlessly shaping the shore. Your thoughts are like those waves, constantly arriving, turning from deep ocean blue to white foam as they complete their purpose. Some waves carry the force of a hurricane, while others are calm and unassuming. Yet, each one carries energy, and as they crash upon the shore, they shape it over time.

The wind represents your attention. The waves may seem controlled by it, but in reality, we control the conscious energy behind them. We determine their impact on the shoreline. Some waves need no attention. Others require nurturing. You are fully aware of the difference between the ones that should be strengthened and the ones that should be left to fade.

At times, waves appear beyond our control. An earthquake in your life may send a massive wave rolling toward your shore. Despite your ability to influence the wind, external forces sometimes set events in motion. In these moments, you have two choices: fortify the shoreline or trust that it is strong enough to withstand the impact.

Fortification comes in many forms: sandbags, rocks, trees, family, friends, and healthy distractions. Alternatively, you may trust that each wave, no matter how powerful, will only strip away what is unnecessary. Grain by grain, what remains is what was always meant to endure. Perhaps your shoreline is fortified by brush, trees and meadows that you tend to, entangling their deep roots into the ground, unshaken by erosion or negativity.

You have spent years building this beach. What was once barren rock and driftwood has become a landscape of resilience created by your energy, patience, and intention. Once, your thoughts were a storm. Chaotic and untamed. Now, they have become waves in harmony with the shore.

Trust yourself. Do not belittle or forget how far you have come. The shore that once symbolized your weakness now stands as proof of your strength. Lean into yourself. Trust your awareness. You are exactly where you need to be. You deserve the good that comes your way.

Mackenzie is a vagabond, wandering between life’s deepest indulgences and its most profound meanings. He is a man of dichotomies, drawn to both chaos and peace, compassion and insensitivity, ignorance and wisdom. A growing spirit, living the human experience, he still questions the life unfolding around him.

His adolescence was filled with curiosity and uncertainty, a time of searching for direction and meaning. Yet, through the people around him and the lessons they taught, he has shaped himself into the person he is today. He has and continues to know personal hardship, being lost, and being found.

Now, he moves between the structure of life and his longing to wander and learn. To experience new people, cultures, and places. He finds beauty in quiet moments, fleeting connections, and the rhythm of new places. He makes mistakes but sees them as lessons, not failures.

He wrestles with being present, often mistaking purpose for perfection and second-guessing his own path. He prefers sunrises over sunsets, drawn to the promise of a new day. He dreams of a life rich with purpose and connection, knowing that meaning is found not in perfection but in presence.
